Dave passed away Aug. 29, 2022, at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, OR, at the age of 55. He was born May 8, 1967, in Riverside, CA, to William and Judith. He graduated from Redlands High School in Redland, CA Dave joined the Army Aug. 07, 1985, as a Lance Missile System Crewmember, where he was assigned to Service Battery 2% Battalion 127 Field Artillery, Germany until he left active duty in 1988. After a break in service, Dave joined the Oregon Army National Guard in 2005 and served thirteen years before his retirement. His original assignment with Det. 1 A Co. 1249- Engineers, Burns, OR. His assignments held throughout the years included: Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic E co. 3-116. Senior Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic A co. 3-116, Section Sergeant Det. 3/145 BSB and Motor Sergeant D co.
141 BSB. He retired from the Oregon Army National Guard in December 2018 as Platoon Sergeant with D co. 181 BSB. During Dave's time with Det. 3/145 BSB he deployed in 2010 to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, 3 Army Achievement Medals, 4 Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Mobilization device and Bronze Hourglass, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, 2 Overseas Services Ribbons, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star; Oregon Superior Soldier Ribbon, and the Oregon Faithful Service Ribbon with Mobilization device and Bronze Hourglass.
While serving in the Oregon National Guard, Dave worked as a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Federal Technician at Central Oregon Unit Training and Equipment Site, Redmond, OR. until his retirement.
Dave was man who enjoyed spending time with his significant other, pets and friends. He loved hosting BBQ's and other events at his home. He was a generous man and loved helping others but also enjoyed his hobbies.
He is survived by his significant other, Kristi; two dogs, Sadie and Prancer; and three siblings, Kim, Mike and Julie.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Sep. 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Prineville Funeral Home, 199 NE 10th St., Prineville, OR. 97754. Followed by a committal service at 2 p.m. at the Juniper Haven Cemetery. 1555 N Main St., Prineville, OR. 97754.
