Darline Faye (Leach) Whitt

Darline Faye Whitt 89, of Prineville passed away at her home in Prineville on July 5, 2018. Darline was born August 12, 1928 in Spokane, Washington to Frederick and Faye (Carr) Leach.

Darline in her early years worked as a waitress & taxi driver she was then married and started having children. She later opened 3 restaurants, where she worked as the owner and chef. Before Darline retired she was a bookkeeper.

Darline raised six of her own children and helped with three step children and had numerous foster children.

She greatly loved writing poetry, art, interior decorating and cake decorating. But, what gave her real satisfaction in life was her relationship with Jehovah and in 1974 her and her husband were baptized as Jehovah’s Witness. Talking about God’s kingdom is what truly brought her happiness.

She is survived by seven children, sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Robert Whitt and step son Roger Whitt.

We all agree that she was an incredible mom and grandma. She will be dearly missed. We all look forward to what Jesus promised in John 5:28,29. Till then Mom, sleep tight.
