Carolyn "Sue" Brixey

 Carolyn Brixey passed away in her home with loved ones by her side on October 23, 2022 she was 78 years old. She was born to Albert and Rayetta McCormick on December 10, 1943 in Willow Springs Missouri. She married Ronald Brixey on October 25, 1963 in Parma Idaho. They lived in several places Arkansas, Missouri and Idaho before making Prineville Oregon their permanent home. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald, daughter Rhonda Hurt, sister Janet King, brothers Jack Leon and Charlie McCormick and parents Albert and Rayetta McCormick.  She is survived by her sons Vernon, Raymond and Candice Brixey both of Prineville,  sister Della Hollis of Willow Springs Missouri, brother Delbert McCormick of Springfield Missouri, grandchildren Austin and Kaylie Hurt, Jayden Hurt, Brooke and Taylor Harris, Chianne Brixey, Alyssa Powell, great grandchildren Raelyn, Easton, Cassidy and Braxton all of Prineville. She was the glue that held the family together. Her love of family, friends, camping, cooking and baking was her greatest joy. Her many years at the Sandwich Factory another joy of hers, where so many in the community saw her with her bright smile as she made their meals. Her specialty was her baking and holiday trays. Friends and family looked forward to the homemade treats every year. She also made wedding cakes for years. There was always room at the table or a pot of coffee for visitors anytime. Some called her Sue, mom, grams, grama gigi, and gramy. She was well loved and will be missed by all.

Service will be held at the Prineville Funeral Home on November 2, 2022 at 9:30am. Reception to follow at Prineville Elks Lodge 10am-1pm.
