Carol Moore Obituary

Carol Ann Moore, age 92, of Prineville, Oregon, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025.

Carol was born on February 4, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Carl H. Keesling and Eva Keesling. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1951. Soon after, she traveled to John Day, Oregon, with her fiancé, but when she met the love of her life, Richard Lee Moore, she chose a new path. They were married on November 21, 1951, and spent 66 beautiful years together until Richard's passing in 2018.

Together they raised two children, Gail (Moore) Woodward and Gary Moore. Carol was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She had five grandchildren – Brent, Clint, Ben Woodward (who passed in 2017), Elizabeth, and Conor Moore. She also had 11 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

Carol worked at Crooked River Grade School, Hudspeth Pine, and Prineville Motor Supply. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sew, crochet, and knit. Her creativity and care were evident in everything she made. Almost every grandchild donned a costume she made by hand for Halloween. Carol was also an avid reader and always had a pile of books by her side.

Carol and Richard spent their winters with dear friends in Yuma, Arizona, a place they both loved. After Richard's passing, Carol moved to Touchmark in Bend, where she lived for four years, and was cared for with love and compassion.

Her love story with Richard began sweetly—he was a log truck driver who would shine his lights into the café window in John Day where she waited tables just to catch a glimpse of her as she made coffee. In her final years, she looked forward to seeing that light shine again when she reunites with Richard in heaven.

Carol’s warmth, wit, and unwavering love touched everyone she met. She will be dearly missed.

A Rosary will be held at 11:30 AM on August 8, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Juniper Haven Cemetery, and a celebration of life will follow at the home of Brick and Gail Woodward.
