Becky (Snyder) Allen

Becky Allen, 77 of Prineville, passed away Jan.8th, 2021 after years of battling chronic illness and failing health. Becky was born Oct. 10, 1943 to Thelma and John Snyder. She lived all her life in Crook County and as a youth she was active in 4-H, high school Cheerleading and was a 6th grade Camp Counselor. She graduated from CCHS in 1961. Becky went to work for Dr. Sherwin as an office trained nurse for several years. In 1967 she married Dr. Riley Allen, a new dentist to Prineville. She was very involved in 2 philanthropic organizations, The Beta Lambda Sorority and The Soroptimists. In 1973 Becky started working for the Department of Human Resources and she developed the Volunteer Program. She used her servant heart and wide circle of connections to get resources from local businesses and silent partners to fund the needs in the community. Her Christmas Program for those in need still lives on in Prineville. Becky loved to camp, work in her yard, plant flowers, bake and volunteer. But mostly, she loved her family. She and Riley were married for 53 years. They raised 2 children Todd and Lara. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She was preceded in death by their son Todd in 1996. Becky will forever be missed and remembered by her family. She is survived by her husband Riley Allen, daughter Lara (Scott) Polen, grandchildren, Trent Allen, Courtney (Shane) Thornton, Reece Polen, Jackson Polen, Quinn Polen and 2 great grandchildren Slade & Chase Thornton. The family will had a celebration of life for Becky at her home later this year
