Arthur Neal Adams

Arthur passed away August 14, at the age of 97. Arthur was born in Coxton Kentucky to Claude and Mandy Adams December 8th 1926. His father died in a coal mining accident when he was 12. He had to leave school to help support his mother and sister, doing odd jobs. He joined the 3c's working in a kitchen, and later the U.S. Navy in 1944. After his discharge in 1946, he married Geneva Broughton. The young couple moved to Ohio, where he worked as a delivery driver and for Frigidaire, making appliances. They welcomed twin boys, Dennis and Denver, daughter Carolyn  and daughter Norma.

The family moved to Prineville in 1954. Arthur worked in the sawmills and the forest Service. He retired from Consolidated Pine as night watchman.  Arthur loved to play music on his guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo. He also did woodworking, made bird houses, Spinners, and small decorative things for the house. He was  very loving and protecting  father, grandfather great- grandfather and great- great grandfather.

After a fall, Arthur had to have a brain surgery, which left him with short term memory. 'He spent 7 years at Char's foster home, and 3 years at Country Side Living. He was loved by all the staff, for his easy going, smiling behavior.

Arthur leaves his 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, his loving wife Geneva and twin boys Dennis and Denver.
