Arlene Virginia Young born Aug 17, 1929 to Lila Jordan Young and Edgar Young in Portland, Or.

Pre-deceased by her parents, her husband James S. Mura, and children James J. Mura, Lawrence R. Mura and Joan Mura Ayres.

Survived by Patricia Mura Farrin of Gaston, Sharilyn Wallen sister, Edgar S. Mura of La Pine and Kathy Mura Erickson of Prineville.

Arlene graduated from Commerce High School in Portland at the young age of 15, having skipped two grades. After her marriage in 1950 she lived in Milwaukie until retiring as an accountant/administrative assistant at several businesses including Silver Wheel and Brod & McClung. Upon retirement she and Jim moved to La Pine in 1979, volunteering at many different organizations. They joined Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where Arlene was involved in the Holy Redeemer Altar Society for many years. In 1984 she and Jim took on the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store, creating a place for the underserved in La Pine to obtain clothing and household items and eventually feeding many La Pine families. Arlene left St. Vincent de Paul in 2013 due to health issues but continued her life in La Pine until she moved to Prineville to be close to her daughter Kate in October 2019.
