Anne Rawlings Fawcett passed away at her home in Bend, Oregon on 12/3/18. She had been living with her son and his family since 2013, and prior to this was a long-time resident of Los Angeles and Orange County, California.
She was born (Dorothy A. Rawlings) in Champaign, Illinois on 10/13/37, and moved with her family to Los Angeles, CA while in grade school. She graduated from UCLA in 1959, and worked as a teacher in the local school district. She was married to Wayne L. Fawcett on 12/9/63 in Los Olivos, CA. She raised two sons in Los Angeles, and later returned to work with the Los Angeles Times until her retirement. After recovering from illness in early 2013, she moved to Bend, Oregon to be closer to family and medical facilities.
She was a loving and dedicated mother and wife, and was also the primary caregiver for her mother in her later years. She loved scripture reading and was active in her church, especially during her young adult years and in college. She also loved literary art and music and wrote poetry throughout most of her life. She is survived by her husband, two sons, and her five grandchildren.
