Tunis "Ben" Koops

Tunis (Ben) Koops, passed away on June 18, 2018 in Corvallis, Oregon. He was 91 years old.  Tunis was born in Fruita, Colorado on October 7^th, 1926, to Ben and Lola Koops. He had a very active and colorful life. He served in the US Navy and was very proud of his service.  He worked as a logger, rancher, in road construction, and was a tavern owner. He was full of spunk and an avid rodeo contestant, participating in amateur senior pro-rodeos well into his eighties.  He roped in Paulia when he was 89 years old and loved every minute of it!!!! His hobbies included team roping, elk and deer hunting, playing guitar, and dancing.  Tunis is survived by his wife (Joan), ) brothers and sisters Greta Lang, Buck (Mary) Koops, Aloha (Gary) Lawson, Leatrice (Jeff) Pelham, Veronica (Marvin) Bothum, Rosiland (Steve) Frazler, and sons; Steve (Pauline) Koops, Larry (Dianne) Koops, Jerald Koops, Duane (Jean) Koops, nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Colleen (sister), Audrey (Wife), and two sons. Tunis was dearly loved and will be missed tremendously.  Donations can be made to a charity of your choice in his name.
