Michael L. Boone, 66, passed away Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at his home in Prineville, Oregon after a courageous battle against cancer. Michael was born on January 9th, 1952 in Eugene Oregon. He left behind his wife, Iris, and his five children – Steven, Scott, Amber, Sarah and Patrick, and his eight grandchildren.
Michael graduated from West Linn High School in 1970. He was employed by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Department where he was the maintenance coordinator for 30 years, retired in 2012. Michael loved to race motorcycles, and Jeeps as a teenager, and enjoyed the outdoors – especially camping at Timothy Lake and hunting. He was an accomplished sailor, but after being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013, his adventures were cut short, and he moved to Prineville, Oregon with his lovely wife, Iris. His newfound passion became building beautiful furniture from juniper and making picture frames from barn wood. He cherished his time feeding the deer, watching the sun set, and reading bible verses with his grandson. He was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend – he will be loved and missed by all.
The celebration of his life will be held on July 7th, 2018 at the West Linn Community Center at 11 am. Contributions to American Lung Association in Michael Boone’s name are much appreciated.
