Mary Louise (McDonald) Moore

Mary Louise (McDonald) Moore passed away at her home in Prineville on June 29, 2018 following a battle with cancer.

Mary was born on January 6, 1948 in San Francisco, California. She grew up in San Francisco and in Daly City, California. Mary graduated from Jefferson High School in Daly City, and from San Francisco State University in San Francisco. She married Gordon Evans Moore on February 27, 1973 in San Francisco.

Mary received an Associate Degree in Nursing from San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California. She worked as a registered nurse in New Orleans, Louisiana and Seattle, Washington before coming to Prineville in 1990. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, while working in Home Health and Hospice at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville. She subsequently worked at St. Charles Hospital in Bend until her retirement in 2012.

Mary’s hobbies included genealogy, travel, visiting garage sales, and walking dogs at the Crook County Humane Society, of which she was a member.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Victor H. and Ann Helen (Cannon) McDonald, and her sister, Arlene Ann Caballero. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Gordon Evans Moore, and by a nephew, a niece, a grandniece, and two grandnephews.

Mary’s family would like to give special thanks to Partners in Care Hospice, and to the paramedics of the Crook County Fire Department.

A memorial service for Mary Louise Moore will be held at 1:30 p.m. on August 25, 2018 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church at 807 East First Street in Prineville, Oregon.
