Jessie M.(Butler) Sharp peacefully passed away in her home in Prineville on October 12, 2018. Jessie spent all 92 years residing in Central Oregon. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Oregon May 16, 1926 to George ”Bonnie” and Martina (Kelly) Butler.
Jessie married Gilbert Sharp and together they bought a farm and raised three children. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish for 74 years and active in the Altar Society. Because of her commitment to community and country Jessie was a life member of the VFW auxiliary post #1412, Prineville. She was awarded Oregon’s Miss VFW of 2013 - 2014.
In addition to being girl Friday at Sharp’s Ranch, Jessie worked at Burnett Box Factory, Sprouse Reitz and Pioneer Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed the history of her family and Central Oregon and was a member of Crook County Historical Society. She will be missed by many.
Jessie is survived by daughters; Frances Carter and Theresa Grater and son; Joseph Sharp, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren and Sister; Bonnie Fine. She was preceded in death by husband Gilbert Sharp, two sisters and one brother.
