Hazel June Engstrom, 85, of Prineville, passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 14 at her home, surrounded by her family.
A service will be held at Eleven Friday, Jan. 5 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, followed by a graveside at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Boulder, Colorado. She graduated from Crook County High School. On Oct. 28, 1951, she married Ernie Engstrom in Prineville, and they were married for 62 years. They had three children.
She loved spending time with her family, gardening, cross stitching, tole painting and traveling.
Survivors include her sons, Stan (Diane) Engstrom and Greg (Darla) Engstrom; a daughter, Kathy (Leroy) Gray; grandchildren, Kara (Armando Enriquez) Castillo, Kim (John) Bales, Alena (Pat) Bothum, Trevor (Meghan) Gray, Josh (Robin Chavana) Engstrom, Andy (Brooke) Gray, and Corey Engstrom; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Kara Castillo, Kim Bales, Alena Bothum, Trevor Gray, Josh Engstrom, Andy Gray and Corey Engstrom.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Engstrom; her parents, Edward and Edith Brewer; and sister, Jewel Cook.
