Long time Prineville resident, Diana Louise Foster Ewing, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, in Prineville.

There will be a Service at the Heritage Chapel at the Prineville Funeral Home on Friday, July 26th at 2 p.m.

Diana Louise Foster Ewing was born to the parents of Charles Clifford Foster and Wanda Elizabeth Foster. She lived in Paulina for the first six years of her life then in Redmond for a brief time and finally back to Prineville where she went to high school and graduated in 1964.

She met the love of her life, Bill Ewing, in 1962 and they married on December 22, 1967. Diana worked at the Prineville Memorial Clinic for several years then made a career at Central Oregon Water District from 1965 to 2002. She attended Linfield College and graduated in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.  After retiring from Central Oregon Irrigation District in 2002 Diana moved to Nyssa, Oregon to live and take care of her husband Bill.

Diana was a volunteer with many organizations and was very generous with her time and talents.  Diana was a case manager with CASA and eventually became a member of the Citizen Review Board. Diana volunteered as a helper for Smart Readers for many years and Diana also served on the CCSD budget committee and various other boards in Prineville.

Diana loved music, she played the French horn in the high school concert band and the piano in the high school dance band. Diana and her husband Bill not having any children of their own, followed many kids in sports to all their ball games.

Diana was a free spirit kind of woman. She loved to travel, was a voracious reader and loved to write.  Diana was always up for an adventure and never knew a Stanger.  She always had a smile and a twinkle in her bright blue eyes. If she committed to something, she was all in, and always gave She was quick to laugh and always willing to help a charity out. The world will miss her and so will all the places she donated her time to.

Diana was preceded in death by husband Bill in 2012 and is survived by her sister Carol Fitzgerald and her two children Danny Ditmore and Penny Wimbish (James).  Nephews Brett Rogers (Terry), Travis Hale (Maggie), Brian Hale, Yancey Fall (Julia), Jason Fall and Nieces Tracy Schmidt (Johnny) and Michele Hale.  Many great nieces and nephews, as well as many great-great nieces and nephews.

A special thanks goes out to her dear friend Dar Martin and her house keeper Maria Guzman who stood by her and helped her out so much through the years and especially the last few months of her life.
