Lutheran Church in Prineville on Friday, December 8 at 12:00 PM.
Darlyne was born January 20, 1933 in Roseau, Minnesota to Ben and Olga (Chase)
Arneson. She was one of 12 children. She was a 1951 graduate of Roseau High
School. On December 3, 1955 she married Dennis Green and they had 5 children. In
1963 they moved the family out west to Prineville, Oregon.
Darlyne worked most of her life in Prineville as a cook and baker starting with the A&W
Drive-In and ending with Barr’s Cafe with many others in between. Many people fondly
remember her pies and homemade rolls. She loved to sew and crochet. Thanks to her
she had the most well dressed daughters, granddaughters, and great granddaughters
around. New babies in the family had warm blankets to be wrapped up in. She also
loved to work on crafts specific to the holidays. Christmas was a special time for her
and she always went all out for that whether it was making delicious treats to eat,
gingerbread houses, or Christmas logs. Whatever craft she did was always shared with
friends and family. Family was the most important thing to her. She started the tradition
of getting together for Sunday dinner and the family all looked forward to that every
week.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dennis, daughters Diane Landis, Dorene
Aslin Clayton (Ellis), Denise Bieber (Sam), and sons Douglas (Cindy) and Daniel. She
is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Jadah Green, Jennah Marino, Jarah, Green,
Josh Green, Amanda Landis Teseniar, Logan Landis, Zach Aslin, and Angel Bond and
7 great grandchildren, Finn Teseniar, Hayden French, Willard Landis, Liam Landis,
Ganen Aslin, Jonah Marino, and Baby Teseniar.
