Betty Jean (Schnoor) Howard

Betty Jean Howard, a small woman with boundless energy, left her family and ranch home the day after her 62nd wedding anniversary to join Jesus in Heaven on Sept. 27, 2017.

She was a woman of many talents. No obstacle was too great for her to conquer.

Her love for God and her faith in Him were her highest honor. She shared her joy in the Lord by ministering to children and youth through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and High School Youth groups in her younger years. As she grew older, she was involved with Christian Women’s Club, Bible studies and many other endeavors that God led her to.

Her family always came first, after her commitment to God. Then her love of growing flowers, which she always grew many hundreds of every year, starting them from seed in her greenhouse, which was almost her second home. She also raised a big garden from which she canned and froze enough to last through the winter, or until she planted again for the next year.

She also liked to help in the fields, whether it was bringing full meals to the crew or running the tractor, baling hundreds of tons of hay. One of her favorite hobbies was riding her four-wheeler on many trails in Utah and Idaho along with her husband, family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years and one day, Martin; children, stepson, Mark (Jeanne) Howard, son, Marty (Jan) Howard, daughters, Teresa (Mike) Ervin and Heidi Howard; grandchildren, Alyssa (Ken) Harwell, Meriah (Jeff) Williams, Josh (Marcelle) Howard, Chad (Cassie) Howard, Shasta (TJ) Ramoss, Ashley Barden, Shane Howard, Stevie Howard; and 21 great-grandchildren.
