GOLDIE "BONITA" BURBANK
Died peacefully on April 12, 2018 at St. Charles Hospice/Hospital, surrounded by her family and hospice staff.
Goldie was born on Sept 1st, 1938 in Hoxie, Kansas to Klonie and Goldie Bunch Hilburn.
The family moved from Kansas to Oregon when Goldie was a young child.
Goldie attended Corvallis High School. She was a dedicated, full time mom and housewife for most of her life. She enjoyed needlework/crafting, sewing, working puzzles, country music, old westerns, and socializing with friends and family. She was the Oregon State Beaver's biggest fan. :-) She also loved special outings to the beach, casino, fishing and getting to Nashville/Opryland for her 60th birthday.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leland Sammons, her second husband, Walter "Chick" Burbank, brothers, Jerry, Jack, Tom and two baby girl siblings, who died at birth. She is survived by daughters Coleen (Bart) Rison of Prineville; Cathy Ramos of Corvallis; Kelly (Rob) Marceau of Cutbank, Montana and Brenda (Jeff) Campbell of Powell Butte. She is also survived by sisters Wilma Schmidt of Corvallis, Patsy Farstad of Oakhurst, California and Wanda Comer of San Diego, California. She has 9 beautiful grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Goldie had many wonderful friends at the Reindeer Meadows apartments (Redmond,Or) that were very important to her and we know they are grieving with us.
Goldie had made a conscious decision years ago to donate her body to science. She is now at Western Health Sciences University in Lebanon, Oregon. We need to find a cure for this horrible disease we know as cancer! No memorial service is planned at this time.
