Daryl Clark Owens Born February 26, 1948 in Portland Oregon; to Lovain and Evonne Owens. Daryl passed away October 9, 2016 in Bend, Oregon; there will be a celebration of life at the Prineville Elks Lodge October 20, 2016 at 4 PM with military honors. Daryl attended Davis Douglas high school in Portland, Oregon; he went on to attend Mt. Hood Community College he met and later married Ellen Tillman on October 1, 1974 after several years of marriage they were divorced and remained friends Daryl later met and married Debbie Newhouse September 30, 1998.

Daryl’s work history included joining the Navy in 1965 to 1969 where he was a welder and metal worker on the USS Mataco. Daryl received many medals for his service during his time in the Navy. Daryl then went to work at Empire Light Rock sacking concrete at night while attending Mt. Hood Community College during the day. Daryl started collecting scrap metal and also ran a popcorn wagon at PDX. He bought his first scrap metal truck and started his scrap and dismantling business and ran that many years and finally ending with his industrial park for his retirement. Collecting and finding money was one of his many hobbies Daryl enjoyed hunting, crabbing, camping and driving through the woods, chasing copper and scrap metal as well as spending time with his buddies at the local cocktail lounge.

Some of his other life accomplishments that he was very proud of; was his two beautiful daughters and two handsome grandsons. Daryl was self-taught and self-made man being very successful at chasing the almighty dollar. Daryl lived a life of doing life his way, living it to the fullest with money, booze and women and creating memories without too many regrets.

Daryl is survived by daughter Carrie Hummel (Shane) grandsons Cody Lee and Lucky Jack, ex-wives Ellen Owens and Debbie Sue Owens. Stepchildren Tammy Halsey and Brandy Newhouse, grand children Roland and Haley Halsey Nathaniel and Noah Jones he was preceded in death by his parents Lovain and Evonne Owens, sister Janet Owens and beloved daughter Sara Michele Owens.
